“Sharing your struggles makes room for a restorative connection that allows others to understand your journey. While it may seem intimidating, it can also be liberating.”

Multiple factors can affect an individual’s overall well-being, including relationships, life experiences, physical health, cultural values, and intergenerational issues. As a psychotherapist, I appreciate the intricate connection between these parts of our lives and their relationship to our mental health. Depending on the circumstances, symptoms related to our mental well-being may appear gradually or without warning. Individuals may struggle with overwhelming thoughts, maintaining relationships, emotional regulation, and impulse control. These symptoms are even linked to how the body handles difficult emotions. Unresolved emotions can disguise themselves as physical issues like muscle tension, exhaustion, and chronic health issues. Depending on the symptoms, I know how powerless it can feel and how challenging it is to reach out for help. Sharing your struggles makes room for a restorative connection that allows others to understand your journey. While it may seem intimidating, it can also be liberating.

My identity as a first-generation Indian American and my past advocacy work in women’s healthcare and education have strongly influenced my practice. I am drawn to the power of human connection and resilience, which provides a foundation for a curious and integrative framework. With individuals or couples, I work towards understanding how their layers, complexities, and developmental years have shaped them. I want to get to know you and how you got here. Creating an empathetic and safe space allows clients to identify how emotional wounds and physical manifestations have resulted in harmful thoughts, patterns, or behaviors. With a deep interest in cultural nuances and developmental milestones, I strive to increase awareness and provide skills for resilience and healing. Together, we can begin a transformative process that honors you and leads to holistic well-being.

Who I work with:

I offer psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and couples, focusing on anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and addictive behaviors. These challenges often lead to isolation and difficulties expressing needs, especially when rooted in developmental trauma. My approach is humanistic, holistic, and trauma informed. I believe in honoring your experiences and adapting my role to the needs of each individual and couple.

“I offer a collaborative space where individuals and families can build upon their resiliency and cope with whatever stressors that life has presented.”

I am passionate about working with individuals and couples across the lifespan from adolescence to older adults with a range of experiences including substance abuse, body image concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. Working from a trauma-informed lens, I view therapy as a collaborative effort where individuals and couples can identify their strengths and cope with their problems more effectively.

I recognize that every person and couple have their own unique history and set of concerns. I want to meet you where you are in your journey as a partner in self-discovery and change. Frameworks that I utilize include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and a Person-Centered foundation. As a trained EMDR therapist, I want to help clients process trauma and life disrupting events to lead more fulfilling and meaningful lives. The first step I take as a therapist is creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment for individuals and couples to tap into their inner resources to overcome their challenges.

Therapy is a powerful resource when a major crisis occurs as well as for those who are doing well and are seeking to learn more about themselves. I believe individuals and couples inherently have the capacity to gain self-awareness and implement positive changes if the conditions are present to promote growth. It would be my pleasure to help you discover your strengths and be a part of your journey of health and healing.

Who I Work With

I work with adults, adolescents, and couples who are seeking to overcome challenges with substance use, trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions. I focus on helping you identify and take steps that integrate your values into your life. I know the emotional pain that can come from living with these stressors, so I work to create a safe, warm, and empathetic space where you can begin the healing process.

“I believe in therapy as a real and honest conversation at the core, where your voice needs to be heard, respected, and affirmed.”

I work with individuals who are, or have, experienced the effects of anxiety, panic, depression, mood disorders, various life adjustments, different levels of ability, and systemic oppression. I want to understand how these experiences have impacted you, and as a therapist, I’m here to support you as you work through the outcomes of those pivotal moments. I studied a modernized psychodynamic approach to therapy which allows me to work with you to understand your ‘big picture.’ Our work, together, will aim to examine and address that ‘big picture’ in a way that is manageable to you.

I believe in therapy as a real and honest conversation at the core, where your voice needs to be heard, respected, and affirmed. My personal goal is to always provide my clients with a space where they feel safe and supported to express themselves, free of judgment, bias, and prejudice. Through my training as a person-centered therapist, I actively strive to meet you where you are in life, and I believe that your own insight is the most valuable tool we have in creating a successful therapeutic experience.

Focus Areas

I work with adults, couples, queer individuals, and families that are working through aspects of trauma, grief, life adjustments and overarching anxieties that can result from such challenging experiences. My goal is to provide a safe space as we collaborate to identify the steps to enact the changes you want to see. I recognize just how difficult starting the counseling process can be, so I want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, and I look forward to working with you!

“Reaching out for help can feel intimidating. I am glad that you are taking this step to seek out support and take care of yourself.”

Creating a space for open expression is fundamental to healing. In therapy, I aim to foster a warm and non-judgmental atmosphere for you to freely share. This is an opportunity to explore your challenges, connect with your feelings, process your trauma, and build meaningful connections.

I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families to address struggles such as depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, stress management, and cross-cultural issues. Using a trauma-informed approach, I strive to create a safe and collaborative environment, with the understanding of how trauma can underlie various mental health issues. By exploring the root causes of symptoms, we work towards a more comprehensive and lasting healing.

My approach is integrative, engaging individuals to learn adaptive coping strategies and embrace the best version of themselves. My theoretical orientation is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I’m passionate about exploring the impact of thoughts on emotions and behaviors, challenging negative self-talk, and cultivating skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

On this personal journey, we will gain insights into your strengths and explore ways to overcome your challenges. I would be honored to help you navigate in the direction of your values and goals.

Who I work with:

I work with adults, children, couples, and families who are dealing with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, and life transitions.
