“While you are unique, you are not alone in your concerns.”

If you are here, it is likely because you are going through something difficult and challenging. Perhaps you and your partner are not getting along - frequently fighting, spending less time together, or struggling to figure out how to move forward in your relationship. You might also be here because individually something just isn’t feeling right. You might notice you’ve become depressed or anxious. Perhaps you feel alone or confused.

While you are unique, you are not alone in your concerns. With experience, I can help you better understand what is going on in your life or within your relationship and offer you skills and tools to improve it so that you can have a sense of empowerment, enjoyment, or direction.

As a therapist, I look at the whole picture - I want to see what has been impacting you from inside, out and together we will figure out the best plan of action for you. I want to facilitate your healing, growth, and change in a way that feels safe and caring.

Couples Therapy:

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. This means I went to school specifically to understand how relationships work and what can be done to make them more fulfilling. Working with couples and families is one of my passions because I believe that when you have a third party, then you get an opportunity to step out of what might feel chaotic and look at what’s happening from afar.

When couples and families are struggling, there is usually a common denominator - people feel that they are misunderstood, mischaracterized, and under considered. A sense of “no one is listening to me” or “I don’t matter” is incredibly common.

I help couples learn to truly hear each other. I like to act as “translator” helping you express yourself in a way your partner can finally understand or helping you to hear the words your partner has wished so deeply for you to hear.

When we work together, we will look to heal the wounds that naturally occur in our relationships when you’re not in tune with each other, and then I will give you tools to prevent it from happening again while also creating a plan for how to make it even better than it was as you move forward.

Our partnerships should be our safe haven, I want to show you how.

Individual Therapy:

When I work with individuals, I take a relational perspective. This means that I don’t see the problem as living “within you” but as a response to the things you’ve experienced in your life. I believe that we learn to develop our defenses as a way to manage the world beyond us. And that those defenses can sometimes keep us incredibly safe while also causing us a lot of pain, anxiety, and confusion.

In therapy, we will explore the history of your life and then work towards healing past pain so that you can live more fully.

“It takes courage and great self-love to start therapy. Your presence in the safe space and desire to heal are personal strengths that can be built upon in the therapeutic environment.”

Whether you are preparing to start your own therapeutic journey or contemplating it, you have already practiced self-compassion. Well, done! I am happy that you are here and putting yourself first! I like to visualize personal strengths as building blocks. I believe that each person has their own strengths that can be expanded on to foster self-growth and future success. You already have key foundational building blocks–why not add some more?

I strive to meet you where you are at. I am passionate about exploring your thoughts, emotions, strengths, and concerns alongside you. Healing is not a linear process, and neither is life itself. The human experience is full of unpredictable life events and changes that can challenge you in many different ways. I believe that challenge can invite desirable outcomes such as personal growth, resiliency, and healing. I will help you navigate life’s challenges and strengthen your skillset along the way. No individual is immune to the curveballs that life can throw. You are not alone. While problems and concerns are inevitable, they do not define you. I believe that the person seeking help with a problem is not the problem. The problem is the problem. We will collaborate within the safe space to address your presenting concerns, improve your overall wellness, better understand yourself, and enhance your quality of life.

At the core of my approach to therapy lies the phenomenological approach, in that I believe that you serve as the expert of your own lived experience. You are the most reliable source in the room when it comes to telling your life story. I am here to listen and learn about you and your story from a non-judgmental stance. Extending beyond the phenomenological approach, I would describe my therapeutic presence as empathic, gentle, and welcoming. I deeply value the human connection in the safe space, as well. I would define my therapeutic style as eclectic in nature. I prefer to utilize a variety of theoretical frameworks in the therapeutic environment to inform the treatment process, interventions, and goal setting. I employ techniques and skills during sessions from various frameworks including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, systemic, multicultural, trauma-informed, and reality.

Who I work with:

I work with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families who are facing hardship posed by anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship conflicts, trauma, and general life transitions. I am here to support you through life’s challenges one step at a time. I tailor the safe space to each client, in an effort to meet individual needs. Together we will occupy a safe space that will promote hope, healing, and growth. I look forward to working with you and guiding you through the rewarding journey that is the therapeutic experience.

“Healing is possible, and you can get to a place that you desire! I will be here every step of the way to help you figure out what that place is and how you can get there.”

I work collaboratively with individuals in creating a safe space to explore thoughts and emotions, express all feelings, recognize strengths, and foster personal growth. I am passionate about empowering individuals to better understand and accept themselves and make changes in order to live their most fulfilling lives.

I strive to create a space where you can feel seen, heard, accepted, and comfortable to openly discuss anything that is on your mind. During therapy, we will work together to help you develop a greater understanding of who you are and what you want. I will aid you in identifying and letting go of limiting thoughts and stories that have gotten in your way, and we will work together to develop coping strategies and healthier ways of being in order to live the life you desire. In sessions, I utilize a wide variety of techniques and skills from a person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, systemic, trauma-informed, multicultural, and strengths-based lens. I also believe that each individual is unique; therefore, I use an eclectic approach in order to meet each individual’s needs.

I believe that one of my most valuable strengths as a therapist is that I understand what it is like to be human. By showing up as my most authentic self, I am showing up as a fellow human being who understands the difficulties that life can throw at us. During therapy, I want each individual to feel the presence of another human being who can understand what they are going through even if I have not experienced it myself. I feel that this human-to-human connection, which is free of distractions and is focused on listening and understanding is so powerful. Therefore, it is my philosophy that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the therapeutic journey, so we will work together to create a strong, collaborative relationship through warmth, respect, authenticity, and humor.

Who I work with:

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples who are seeking to overcome challenges with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, self-esteem, life transitions, and trauma. Together, we can identify your goals, uncover your values, and take steps towards building a life in accordance with your values. It would be my pleasure to be a part of your journey of self-discovery, health, and healing. I am excited to assist you in recognizing your strengths, feeling greater freedom to be the whole person that you are, developing confidence that you can cope with the uncertainties and challenges of life, as well as creating a future that feels right for you.

“Every individual and relationship is unique and deserves the opportunity to feel supported through therapy.”

My aim is to assist you in navigating, processing, and better understanding yourself. As a systematically trained therapist, I believe our relationships offer a crucial opportunity for personal growth. Helping clients foster self-love and strengthen their relationships is a goal I bring to the therapy space. Love, to me, is a multifaceted process. It involves turning towards one another, connecting, miscommunicating, and repairing, while also finding a deeper connection within us and with each other.

Who I work with:

I work with a diverse range of clients, but I especially enjoy working with couples.

Individual Therapy

I work with individuals presenting with trauma, addiction, self-esteem issues, infidelity, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. I believe in working collaboratively to empower you to take an active role in your own growth and healing journey and to create a change in your life that provides happiness and fulfillment.

Asking for help can sometimes be uncomfortable, but I will be here every step of the way. I use my authentic self and real-world experiences together with my clinical training in the therapy room to help you reach your goals. We work together to explore thoughts and feelings on current or past hardships, learn coping skills to foster a more balanced mindset and manage difficult feelings such as anxiety and sadness.

Couples Therapy

I enjoy working with couples to help them navigate the complexities of their relationships. I help provide couples with tools to address communication issues, resolve conflicts, and enhance intimacy. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive, kink/BDSM-affirming, and poly-friendly therapist, I provide a safe space and welcoming environment for clients of all identities and relationship styles. In my approach, I value collaboration, direct communication, curiosity, and honesty. I believe that fostering healthy communication is essential for deepening connections and enhancing intimacy within relationships. I also believe in the importance of challenging our thought patterns and creating space for accepting our partner’s perspectives. By doing so, we foster healthier relationships and become more open to each other’s influence.

Together, we will navigate life’s uncertainties, promote healthy communication, and build trust to address and heal from traumatic experiences.

“The healing journey is not about fixing what is broken, but rather embracing the process of rediscovering what is whole”

I work with teens and young adults in a supportive, compassionate, and nurturing way, helping them identify their strengths and build self-love by defining goals through deep empathy and acceptance. Through skill building and working to create healthy relationships, I can help you (or your child) learn how to navigate the tricky parts of growing up and not only cope but thrive.

As a therapist, I understand that seeking counseling can feel intimidating at first. My primary goal is to provide a safe, empathetic, and warm environment to encourage a sense of comfort.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. I also have a special focus on working with adoptees - children, teens and young adults who were adopted and would like a place to process their experience with someone who understands their unique experience.

My Experience:

I began my work at The Center for Family Services in New Jersey. While there, I supported children and teens struggling with depression, anxiety and behavioral issues through both individual counseling and mental health groups. Since then, I have focused my expertise on helping children, teens and young adults.

I am also specifically trained to work with adoptees to help them process their experience.

I look at my work through the lens of connection and trauma, and I help young people learn how to navigate the challenges they are faced with in our world and in their hearts.

Who I work with:

Everyone entering psychotherapy comes from a unique background. Together, we can identify your specific goals and create a treatment plan that addresses your needs. I offer psychotherapy for teens and young adults and also support to their caregivers.

How I help

I help clients find relief from challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I engage with my clients using an integrative approach, pulling from various techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and a Mindfulness-Based approach. This will help you learn how to navigate your thoughts and feelings in a new way (so they don’t feel so overwhelming) and offer you an opportunity to understand yourself and your needs more deeply so that you can navigate your relationships with more confidence. I will also utilize a mindfulness-based approach which can help cope with feelings that feel too big or overwhelming.
